Chatuchak Market

Chatuchak market is a flee market on steroids.  Every Saturday and Sunday over 15 thousand vendors sell everything from fine silver to puppies. 200,000 people fit into tight make-shift streets on roughly 27 acres. Imagine a UT vols football game day(back when they won games) but at Tennessee tech.
Laina double-fisting some cola.

Laina described the market as a bargain hunter's "special dream":). No price is final and you're expected to haggle aggressively.

There is a mixture of smells ranging from fermented fish sauce( which tastes much better than its odor) to freshly carved teak wood depending on which alley you choose(that, mixed in with the occasional waft of raw sewage). But, once your nostrils acclimate, it grows on you.  The food was
delicious. We ate twice in 2 hours despite not feeling hungry either time.

Be ware! Restrooms cost 2baht for a regular visit and if you want to get fancy and use toilet paper it cost 7 baht.  Fear not however, most toilets are luxurious enough to have French bidets...................... Just like this one. Though, it is suggested that you do not ingest the water from either end.
